Reminders: 

Our outdoor P.E is on a Wednesday and indoor PE is swimming on a Friday. 

Please make sure you are wearing appropriate clothing. 

Homework is set on a Friday and is due the following Thursday. This is the homework for this week:

Reading:

Remember to read your book every day and record it in your reading diary.

Don't forget – if you record in your reading diary that you have read your colour-banded book 5 times or more, you can get a raffle ticket to be in with a chance to win a token for the reading vending machine!

Maths:

This week our maths focus has been long multiplication. Please complete page 10 and mark it using the answers in the book.

Grammar and Punctuation:

For this week’s homework we have been looking at sentence structure, please complete page 36 and mark it using the answers in the book.

Spelling:

This week, we have been learning to spell words with suffixes. During the week, you recorded in your reading diary the words that you found particularly challenging. Practise spelling these words at home. Below is the entire list of words we have been working on this week. Continue to practise these spellings ready for a recap on Monday and our half-termly spelling tests.

Subject Themes:

1. I know something about Black History month.

2. I can share my thoughts on the theme ‘Break the Silence’ (Anti-bullying week 16^th-20^th November)

3. I can write a poem using the theme 'What is a world of wonder...It's anything you want it to be.' You can enter the competition to have your poem published in a real book. Entries will need to be given to Mrs Gardner by 

Topic Themes:

1. Research the history of how fingerprints are used to solve crimes. You could have a go at taking your family's fingerprints and identifying the type of fingerprints they have or find out about how fingerprint evidence has been used to solve specific crimes and types of crimes.

2. Design a wanted poster about a criminal of your choice and include details about their crimes. 

3. Create a ’spot the difference’ picture of a medieval trial (or a time period of your choice, where they held trials) and a modern one-day trial. How many differences are there to find?

Key Topics:

Key questions about different crimes over different periods of time. In science, we will be looking at evolution and inheritance and then living things and their habitats.
